Back row: Alex Suh, 6th
Degree; Grandmaster In Hyuk Suh, 10th Degree; Karl Stolt, 4th
Degree; John Ives, 6th Degree from Norwich, England
Front row: Jeremy Teeple 1st degree,
Kuk Sool Won™ Grandmaster, In Hyuk Suh, visited Kuk Sool Won™ schools in Sault Ste.
Marie, Michigan, and Sault Ste. Marie,
Ontario, on his annual seminar tour
across England, Canada, and the United States. The grandmaster was accompanied by
Kuk Sool Won™ Master Alex Suh, Master John
Ives from the United
Kingdom, and the grandmaster’s
grandson Erik Suh first degree black belt.
The seminar team conducted a two and one half hour test for
local students who are testing for advancement to 1st degree black
belts. In the evening, the
seminar team held a three-hour seminar for instructors and
students. The seminar concluded
with the promotion of Jeremy Teeple to the rank of 1st Degree black
belt (Jo Kyo Nim).
Jeremy is twelve years old and has been training in Kuk Sool
Won™ for six years. You may view
Jeremy’s black belt page by clicking on this link. http://www.kuksoolwonsault.com/blackbelts/jteeple.htm
Jeremy trains at Washington
Elementary School
with instructors Karl Stolt, Ben Forejt, Sr.,
and Ben Forejt II.
Jeremy tested many times during the last year and one half,
sometimes before the Grandmaster, sometimes at other Kuk Sool Won™
schools, and often before his own instructors. The tests involve a considerable
amount of memory and physical endurance. The training leading up to the point
of testing covers a period of several years. Earning the rank of 1st
degree black belt in the martial art style of Kuk Sool Won™ is most definitely an
accomplishment of which he may be justifiably proud.
