Kuk Sool Won™ Martial Art Students Win Medals

Cody Mayer,
Dillon Mayer, Shawn Collins, Sharon Christian M.D., and Alan Seymour all earned medals in a martial
art tournament held in Troy, Michigan on Saturday, April 1st.
The World Kuk
Sool Association leader, Grandmaster In Hyuk Suh, his wife, two masters from Texas,
a master from New York, a master from Missouri, and a master from Korea all attended to help
conduct a black belt testing and assist in running the tournament.
The Great Lakes
Kuk Sool Won™ Tournament was hosted by the Troy, Michigan
Kuk Sool Won™ School. More than
230 martial arts students, representing Kuk Sool Won™ martial arts
schools from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, New York,
and Canada,
met for a friendly but spirited competition.
Cody Mayer,
competing as a yellow belt, received a 1st place medal in
sparring, which is controlled fighting.
Dillon Mayer,
competing as a brown belt, medaled in four events. He earned 3rd
place in his memorized pattern, 3rd place for his
self-defense routine, 1st place in the staff competition,
and a 1st place in sparring.
Shawn Collins (Click for
photo) competed as a white belt.
He earned a 3rd place for his self defense routine
and a 2nd place in sparring.
Sharon Christian
M.D. (Click
for photo) competed as a first degree black belt and she earned a 4th
place with her memorized pattern, a 3rd place in self
defense, a 4th place
with her staff form, and a 1st place in the sword
competition.
Alan Seymour, (Click for
photo) competed as a second degree black belt and he earned six
medals. His medals were a 4th
in memorized pattern, a 4th in self defense, a 4th in
sword form, a 4th in short staff form, a 2nd in
sparring, and a 2nd in board breaking.

martial art students train at Washington Elementary
School with instructors Karl Stolt, Ben Forejt, Sr.,
& Ben Forejt
